Make It Personal
Since the day we got engaged, everyone has told me the same thing: "enjoy it, it'll go by so fast!" And for my fellow brides I know you've heard this one: "the day is going to fly by!" So I made it my goal during this planning process to really make it personal in ways that I can hold onto long after the big day. My family and closest friends would tell you I'm an old soul and a complete cheeseball so naturally my personal wedding details would be vintage and romantic...these are the details I've looked forward to picking most.
Without sharing TOO much, I wanted to let you guys in on just a few of the personal bridal details I've started collecting for our big day. These are the things I hope to hold and remember all the moments from our wedding day, the mementos I hope to pass down to our children or grandchildren one day, the things that only get better with age. As a creative, I think about how to embody a feeling into a day. I want our day to be romantic and authentic and so I knew that silly little things like a embroidered handkerchief would mean the world. I didn't like the idea of balled up tissues catching the most meaningful tears of my life thus far. I knew I wanted to give my ring a home that felt like me. It is my most cherished possession for everything it stands for and I wanted a way to display it proudly anytime it's not on my hand. I knew I wanted to softly incorporate the colors that inspired the whole day and love the idea of incorporating soft silk ribbon into my bridal look as well.
Everything from the music selections, to the flowers, the grooms gift, to my bridal accessories have been very carefully curated to tell our story. I think it's such a special opportunity for a bride to get to do so because it is so easy to get caught up in all the other details and decisions. Take your time and find little ways to capture your day outside of the photos or the videos. Find little things you can hold onto or incorporate that you can have forever...if it's going to fly by, we might as well capture every second of it that we can!
