The Perfect Cookout Cocktail

Summer to B & I means spending a lot of time with friends. We love hosting cookouts but one thing I run into is trying to figure out fun drinks we can make in bulk. Of course there’s always your typical beer or single serving drinks but after a while they get boring! That’s when I came up with the perfect idea…a pretty and tasty mocktail base that can be mixed with a number of liquors. Do you like lemonade, do you like mint, do you like fun festive cocktails?? Enter the easiest and most customizable summer cocktail around! For my trial run I tried champagne and vodka and both were delicious. The base can be served as a mocktail as well! You could also mix it with tequila for a play on a margarita! The beauty of this cocktail is that it’s customizable to your guests! No more leftover or wasted drinks!! It’s a breeze to make, takes minutes to throw together, and it’s perfect for entertaining!

What you’ll need:

  • A lemon, sliced

  • Fresh blueberries

  • Sparkling lemonade (I get mine at Trader Joes- 2 bottles makes one full pitcher)

  • 10-12 fresh mint leaves

  • Various clear liquors for mixing

  • Ice

  • A pitcher or punch bowl

How to:

  1. Pour sparkling lemonade into pitcher or punch bowl

  2. Toss in 2 handfuls of fresh blueberries

  3. Toss in lemon slices

  4. Roughly chop mint leaves and add to pitcher

  5. Add ice when ready to serve

  6. You can also choose to add your own liquor if you so choose!

That’s it y’all! It’s a breeze! For a fun twist, you could use pink sparkling lemonade for a baby shower or bridal party!! If you love this quick little recipe, let me know! I’d love to hear your thoughts!!
