{It's a Date Night, Game Night} The Not-So-Newlywed Game

Stuck at home with nothing to do? Trying to find new ways to stay off the screens? Looking for free at home date night idea? Well it's GAME NIGHT in the Boegel house and tonight we're playing The Not-So-Newlywed Game!

So often, we find ourselves sitting on the couch together but staring at our phones instead of interacting with one another. In the past I've shared how we try to carve out one night a week for date night but in the current, self-quarantined climate, date night was quickly falling by the wayside.

The other night I started looking for fun games that we could play at home with only two players and limited resources when I stumbled upon this blog post by The Love Nerds. I LOVED their printable questions and wanted to come up with a 2 player version of their game so I'm sharing it here with you all! It's the perfect game to test how well you know your partner. I'd LOVE to hear if you play the game in your own home and your favorite part or memory!

{The Not-So-Newlywed Game}

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Something for each person to write on

  • 2 markers

  • A bowl

  • Questions written or cut out onto small strips

  • 2 or more players

THE RULES:

  1. Put your questions into the bowl.

  2. Sitting facing away from one another, decide who will be drawing the first question. The person who draws the question is the person the question is directed towards. Take turns drawing questions.

  3. Read the question aloud. You will both write down your answer to the question privately. When both players are ready, turn over your whiteboard/paper/notebook to compare answers.

  4. If you drew the question and the other player answer the question incorrectly, then you get a point. If you are the person answering the question and you answer the same as the person who drew the question, you get a point. The person with the most points at the end of the game wins!

** You can come up with a few tie breaker questions too in case your round ends in a tie!

You can watch us play for the first time over on Instagram! We actually really liked this game and were really surprised about the questions we got and the ones we missed! Hope you guys love it as much as we did!
