The earliest stirrings of autumn are in the air and with it the first glimpses of fall fashion. I've compiled a few of my pre-fall favorites, perfect for the seasonal transition. Before the brown, burgundy, and marigold color palette that's synonymous with the fall season there's the timelessness of navy stripes and neutral patterns to ease us into a new season and keep us comfortable while the warm days cool and the leaves start to change.

PLAID BOYFRIEND BLAZER

A plaid blazer is the building block to a great fall look in my opinion, it's also the perfect way to make some of your year round pieces feel a little bit more fall appropriate. Drape it over your shoulders or pull up the sleeves for warmer days and as temperatures start to fall you already have the perfect layering piece.

DARLING DENIM

Denim is such a great transitional fabric throughout the year and I love the sweet details of this top. It would pair so perfectly with a printed pant or even a colored pant/skirt and a sweater thrown over the shoulders for an extra layer on the go. Denim is also an underutilized neutral especially this time of year.

FEMININE FLATS

Fall may be boot season but pre fall is flat season. If you were only going to invest in one great staple flat for fall these are the ones I would suggest. There is something so classic about this silhouette and they truly go with just about everything. I have them in two colors and constantly find myself switching between the bone color (perfect for year round use) and the gorgeous chestnut brown (the most perfect shade for fall).

FALL FLORALS

You might recognize this floral beauty from a recent reel I did showing off how versatile this top can be. The colors clearly scream autumn but the lightness of the fabric, the keyhole neckline and the feminine details make her there perfect pre fall top. Wear now with jeans, sandals, and a linen blazer and wear later under a great plaid blazer.

NAVY STRIPES

Few prints transition better between seasons like a classic stripe...particularly in the navy color-way. Something about it just feels fresh but equally cozy and Navy goes so well with the brown tones synonymous with fall. I love this quarter zip as an easy way to layer the most basic outfit whether draped over the shoulders, tied around the waist, or worn over your favorite white tee.

HOUNDSTOOTH TOTE

Another multi season print, this houndstooth tote is there perfect marriage of black and cream making it an extremely versatile piece to carry through the fall and winter seasons. This $35 option is there perfect way to add texture and pattern to any look without braking the bank.

VIBRANT VELVET

One of my favorite ways to slowly transition into a new seasons color palette is to add pops of color and there's no better way to do that then with a gorgeous shoe. Velvet feels like the perfect choice to convey the richness and vibrancy of fall and I fell head over heels for this wine color as soon as I saw them but I also love the stunning dusty rose pair.

SCALLOPED TRENCH

Hands down, the first item of think of when I think fall fashion is the trench coat. It's the perfect layer for the fluctuating temperatures of early fall but trench coats can be very hard to find a cut, color, and style that suits you. I love the special details on this one that make if feel a little more flirty and feminine without completely stepping away from the timelessness of a classic trench.

T-SHIRT DRESS FOR ALL SEASONS

Much like the striped quarter zip sweater above, you can't go wrong with a navy and white striped tshirt dress for a great casual option all year round. I love pairing mine with white sneakers and a knit over my shoulders or around my waist for the evenings.

SILK MIDI SKIRT

If you haven't figured it out yet, I love pieces that can be worn in many seasons as a way to make my wardrobe work harder and to get a better return on the investment I make in my closet. This silk midi skirt is another great staple that can be worn year round and is perfect for the transition from summer to fall. I love the idea of this classic khaki color as well as a go-with-everything option that can easily be dressed up or down.

LOVING LOAFERS

Rounding out my picks for pre fall footwear are loafers of any color and style but I especially love the modern twist of these lug sole loafers. They're classic with a twist and this beautiful cognac color is fall fashion perfection. There's no denying that many of us start to opt for pants more frequently this time of year and these are the ideal companion that will only get better with age.

TIMELESS TIERS

I personally have this dress in a baby blue and when I saw the navy (which is currently on sale!) I knew it would make for the perfect pre fall dress of choice. This beauty is SO well made, fits true to size, has pockets, and so many sweet details. It really stands on its own and once again doesn't feel like an exclusively fall piece so can be worn year round.
