White Eyelet Top: Two Ways to Style

Can you believe that the official start to summer is just a few days away? Summer is my very favorite season! I may be biased being a June baby but I love the long warm nights, spending a ton of time outdoors, cookouts, fire pits, and all the shaved ice date nights. Summer can prove challenging though when it comes to dressing for the season (hello heat wave + humidity). When I think of summer style I think about easy to wear, light an airy pieces that can be restyled over and over. Summer pieces have to be hard working; they have to be comfortable and functional in order to keep up with all your summer activities. Just because it's toasty doesn't mean you have to sacrifice style for whats cool and easy!

When shopping for summer I look for sweet details, flattering silhouettes, and beautiful fabric and there are few things in my mind that capture the essence of summer style better than anything white eyelet! Admittedly, I've already added this top {under $25 guys!} and a shirtdress to my always expanding eyelet wardrobe. More to come on the dress later but this top is SO good y'all. I love the sweet detail of the fabric of course but I think the combination of the simple neckline and the puff sleeves really make it the perfect top to add to any summer wardrobe. Possibly the best part is that it's not see through which can be so rare with white clothing! I wanted to share with you all just two ways I've personally been styling this top with pieces I already have in my closet.

Layered under a chambray dress: If you've been following me for a while then you know that this dress it one of my all time favorites and it works HARD for me year in and year out. Back in the fall I was trying new ways to style dresses for cooler weather and tried layering top and dresses so I thought, why not for summer?? I love the gorgeous contrast of this combo and it's the perfect summer date night outfit if you ask me!

Tucked into your favorite shorts: It's no secret that summer is short season and this year I started incorporating new short styles and fabrics. I've found myself repetitively pairing this top with my high waisted linen shorts but I also think they would pair amazingly with paperboy shorts or even your go-to denim cutoffs.
